Percy likes to sit on my arm when I’m typing. I’m not sure how he sees that as helpful or efficient, but he loves doing it. He also sits in my Inbox. I’m sure my paperwork loves being kept warm.
Do you have an assistant? Does your assistant help you to heal your sense of “I’ve got something wrong with me?” You see, Percy doesn’t know I’m fat, so every time I see him, I get to remember this about him and it helps me to remember it about myself. I do believe that the normally-sized me is in there and wants to come out. I keep that from happening because I indulge my old habit of thinking that I am fat. This kind of thinking is what continues to create fat, and the concepts of my handsome-dude Assistant, Percy, never get to see the light of day.
Each of us has something about ourselves we think is “wrong” in one way or another and we think that we will be judged as less-than by those who observe us just as soon as they discover this one embarrassing flaw. Some people have “hidden” flaws that aren’t immediately obvious, such as being overweight is.
I think that each of us has this “one thing wrong” idea going and honestly folks, your “one thing wrong” truly can become your biggest blessing. Being overweight became the strongest catalyst in my life to overcome this curse. Instead, what I got was enlightenment, understanding and a keen insight into Life. One hell of a payback, if you ask me.
Cherish your “one thing wrong.” It is a blessing if you’d embrace it that way.
If you’d like to get a leg up on the process, I’d highly recommend reading my book, “My Cats Have Seen Me Naked,” and yes, that’d be Percy the magnificent who saw me stepping out of the shower and never deflected his eyes because he loves the I inside the big me.
