Renewing Intentions and Staying On Track

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Welcome back!

How many Do-Overs?

How many Do-Overs?

I’m writing an article for the June issue of Magnify You this week. I have the topic of Rebirth in my mind and of course along with this comes the actual birth of our new baby, Hieronymous.  I got to wondering how many Do Overs he’ll experience in his one sweet life and how important they are. Of course when it comes to the subject of re-shaping your body using mental means alone as opposed to diet and exercise, well this is my theme song, eh?

If  you’ve slipped off the track of whatever project you’re working on about the size of your body, grant yourself permission to start all over again with a renewed intention.  It doesn’t have to be January for you to start a weight loss program.  It can be today.

It is an exhilleration beyond anything I’ve ever experienced to have participated in the unassisted birthing of that precious darling baby boy last month.  And it is also an exhilleration to know that I can use my mind to consciously re-shape my body as well. Same thrilling feeling.

Chi in bed

Chi in bed

I do a lot of my mental work first thing in the morning in bed, with my kitty Chi on my hip, waiting and praying for wet food time.  I can lay there for hours thinking my thoughts (I love to think that I am two sizes smaller for the wedding in Penna in July) and holding them.  I savor each word and I conjure up a picture of what each word means and feels like deep inside myself.  I work to achieve absolute conviction that my truth is true for me. And then, my thinking manifests.

Using the seat belt marks method, yesterday I did a re-marking on my seat belt and I’ve lost 6 inches off my hips (my visual calculation) through purely mental means!  Hooray!

If you haven’t read My Cats Have Seen Me Naked: How I Achieved Self Acceptance and Self Love While Obese yet, I’ve got an autographed copy with your name on it, ready to go.

Pat

Amy's Due Tomorrow

Amy's Due Tomorrow

This is a picture of my son’s girlfriend, Amy, at her shower.  Their baby is due tomorrow.  We’ve all been waiting, watching, hoping and praying.  It’s a difficult thing, waiting.  But nature has to complete it’s processing 100% before that baby will move into the being-born position and we just have to be patient.

It’s the same with any work you undertake.  I’m thinking of weight loss specifically.  The process has to be 100% completed and this takes a lot of patience and even more perseverance.  I’m happy for my -32 pounds.  After that 5 week plateau last month, I am grateful for the smallest step forward.

I went to dinner with a friend last evening and she is unconvinced that my losing weight is due to mental means alone.  Well, if it wasn’t, why was it that when my mental work got so scrambled and inconsistent, did I plateau out?  Why didn’t the food choices I had been making carry the day?  Because it’s my mental work that is doing the job!  I am absolutely convinced about that and I see it so clearly that I can never deviate from my path now, because it is the Truth.

I’d love to teach  you how to do that.  We didn’t have the class last night.  It got re-scheduled for next Monday, April 13th at 6 pm PST.  If you want to find Your Power Inside, you can sign up for the April 6th class on my website, but know I’ll teach it on April 13th.

I want to leave you with a powerful thought today.  I found this quotation hanging as a sampler on the wall at Mimi’s Restaurant in Torrance, CA:

Goodness

Keep thy tongue from evil.

Refuse to do a mean act, be it ever so small.

If we would do good, we must be good.

You can do more good by being good than in any other way.

Never excuse a wrong action by saying someone else does the same thing.

Grateful to be Fat

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

It’s Thanksgiving week, so I’m looking at all the things I’ve got to be grateful for.  The first one that came up is that I’m grateful I got to be fat or obese.  I’m sure there are some of you out there who might think I’m nuts to think that, but let me tell you why:

Being fat forced me to seek solutions.  Not finding solutions that worked permanently (yes, I tried every damn diet out there!), I was forced to continue to search.

Having searched, I found the truth and I was absolutely amazed.  When you know the truth about any one idea, did you know that you automatically recognize every thing that is false?  That’s right.  Let me give you an example:  you know that two times two is four, right?  So if someone said that five or twelve was the answer, you’d automatically know it was wrong.  Why?  Because you know the right answer.

That’s what happened to me with my searching.  I found the truth.  It’s in my book “My Cats.” It’s one of the things I’ve got to be most grateful for this week.  There will be excerpted freebies throughout the balance of the week.

Happy Thanksgiving to You!

Pat
