Do You Enjoy the Food You Eat?

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Welcome back!

Family Feast

Family Feast

I’ve been processing on the idea that “The Sole Purpose of Food is Enjoyment” for nearly 30 years now. I remember when I first heard it, it absolutely did not resonate.  That’s because I had a completely erroneous mindset in there about food, which included ideas like:

  • Food can make you fat
  • Food can make you thin
  • Food can nurture you
  • Food can make you sick
  • Food can cause allergies

You can see that none of those ideas contains the concept of Enjoyment. I want to share with you the kinds of ideas I’ve processed across the years to get to the place where I no longer think any of those five bulleted points, and I only eat for the sake of enjoyment.

  • Only Mind is cause.
  • Only thinking can cause things.
  • The things caused are NOT cause, they are effect.
  • Effect has no ability to cause anything.
  • Food is effect.
  • Food has no ability to cause anything.
  • The only reason food appears to cause something is because I am thinking it can cause something. (Remember: Only thinking can cause things.  Things cannot cause things.)
  • Once I fully understand food cannot cause anything, I relinquish my mistaken idea and food returns to it’s norm where it causes nothing quite naturally.

I would love to think that if you print out this page and you think about it across some period of time, you will get to the place where Enjoyment is the only thing you think about when it’s time to eat. To that main idea add the idea of “All things in moderation” you’re a happy girl.

Reminder: a wonderful Christmas gift for your large friends is my book: My Cats Have Seen Me Naked: How I Achieved Self-Love and Self-Acceptance While Obese. You can buy it here.

Hugs,

Pat

Natural Beauty is Within You

Natural Beauty

Natural Beauty

If you can look at this picture of fallen down trees and weeds and think “Yes, it is natural beauty,” can you not look at yourself and think the same? Many of my long time readers have purchased my book “My Cats Have Seen Me Naked: How I Achieved Self-Love and Self-Acceptance While Obese” and you know first hand that I totally tout the Kingdom of Within.

I know that we teach best what we most need to learn, so trust me on this one, okay?  “Within” is where you need to get to if you want to love and accept yourself regrdless of the size, weight, color, height or any external attribute of your body.  Your appearance does one thing only:  it tells you what you have been thinking about  yourself.  Nothing else.

You know those skinny girls who are fashionistas?  Their bodies are considered all hot.  Want to know what they telegraph to me?

  • I am only what I look like.
  • I can be judged and criticized by my appearance.
  • Insecure men use me for arm candy.
  • I’m so fragile that if I gain 3 lbs., I think my body is ruined and so am I.
  • I judge things only by appearance.
  • I am a conformist and do not think for myself.
  • I think relationships are based only on appearance.
  • I think thin bodies signify something other than immaturity.
  • I don’t understand that mature bodies are supposed to get thicker as the years go by if not manipulated unnaturally.

My heart goes out to these youthful mentalities.  They haven’t as yet discovered the aspects of the kingdom within themselves where they are the Queen but they act like a quivvering upstairs maid!

When’s the last time you permitted yourself a decent, normal, well-rounded, healthful meal?

How Does the Lack of Self-Acceptance Show Up for You?

On Top of The World

On Top of The World

This is my four-month-old grandson, Hieronymous.  His dad is a Photoshopper and has made his son King of the World.  I thought it would be a great picture to accompany today’s topic: how does the lack of self-acceptance show up. Right now, Hiero is completely accepting of everything and I think getting to that stage is where we’re headed.

Now this is a topic that will definitely require your comments and feedback because all I can share with you is what I’ve experienced myself and what I’ve read about.  I absolutely have to have your feedback as to how the lack of self-acceptance shows up in your life to help flesh out the subject.  So please, do leave a comment, won’t you?

Here is a partial list of how I’ve seen this lack show up.

  • Staying in a job too long for too little
  • Dating men I know aren’t good enough
  • Getting sucked into doing things that I don’t want to do
  • Not being able to just say “No.”
  • Maintaining mistaken senses of self, poverty, inability, size
  • Anger over the manipulations of corporate management
  • Emotional freeze about interviewing for a job
  • Lack of taking any action steps
  • Thinking that one deserves the ills that befall him or her
  • Making-do with lower quality goods and services
  • Refusal to do what it takes to maintain a healthy or beautiful appearance
  • Habitual complaining and pointing out the faults of others

I need your points to add to this list.  Please, please, please leave your comment.  It will become part of our new teleclasses and everyone will pitch in to help you get past your shtick. We need you!!!

I hope this has provoked some deep thinking on your part.  That’s what has to happen so that you can heal spiritually.  Recognize, vow to change, change.  Good luck!

Love,

Pat
