I Am Grateful for Long Drives #30 Days
Monday, November 30th, 2009Welcome back!

Sunset San Bernardino
Whenever I drive to Pahrump, NV, I get to spend hours and hours in my car, just thinking. It helps me to clarify my desires, and to focus my mental work to manifest those desires.
Last Thursday at 6 am, I left for Thanksgiving in Pahrump to visit my friend Bennie who is ailing. My sons were nice enough to release me from things family for this holiday. I left at 6 am on Thanksgiving morning and the roads were so clear, it only took 3.5 hours. This is my regular, non-holiday timing. On the way back, it took 5.5 hours for the same trip, although I left at 11 am. So, as you can see, I spent a considerable number of hours in the car driving this past weekend.
I love long drives however. I ask me to show me something I haven’t realized before for whatever mental project I’m currently working on. Generally, what happens is that I proceed with my normal manner of thinking with the idea of “something new will be shown to me,” and sure enough, it happened again this weekend.
I realize that if you are willing to take only the step you see in front of you, by taking that one small step, the next step will be made clear. But if you don’t take the first step, you, honey girl, are locked into place. And if “what you think is what you get” and you continue to think the same old thing, it would be impossible for you to get something different.
And this is why I’m grateful for long drives: I begin to think; I’m shown the next good thing - the next tweak for more good; and I begin to think that new good thing so that my results are bettered. Who could ask for a better life?
Love,
Pat
