Those Who Courageously Change Within Are the World’s Leaders

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Hello. Happy you stopped by. You won’t miss one juicy tidbit if you sign up for updates in the box on your right. Don’t forget, it all starts with “My Cats Have Seen Me Naked” – a permanent healing message for you who struggle with bodily image.

Flower lures you into the cactus

The political arena these days isn’t a happy one for me.  I detest debt.  I cannot see any wisdom behind 4 trillion dollars of debt and I hate that we would pass this along to our children and grandchildren. I am a understander of principles however, and I do know that what is Right is powerful and that what is Wrong is powerless and has the nature of a bad dream.  I think our political arena is powerless and while we might have nightmares for four years, eventually we’ll all wake up from the dream and poof! the fear behind the nightmare will be gone.  I know, I know:  from my mouth to God’s ears, right? All we have to do is wait and watch, unless you are a politician and then, puhleeze, get in there and stop this insanity.

On the more personal front, where I live here inside my mentality, I think about indebetedness and about change.  I believe that it’s harder to change the inside of yourself than to turn the corporate elephant or to dissuade politicians from their evil ways.  And because in here is basically my kingdom, I believe it’s far more courageous to change the inside of me.  I could rail at the political environment and it would be like spitting on the steps of the capital.  Nothing would happen.  But I can really get into myself and make things happen, right here, right now.  So can you.  The question remains: are you willing to do whatever it takes?

I have slowed down in my weight loss.  I am still doing my mental work with religious adherance. I eat only those things that provide pure enjoyment for me, and I eat all things in moderation.  I walk for exercise when I feel like it.  And the weight loss has slowed down.  (It’s still -25 lbs since Thanksgiving those of you who follow pruriently just for the sake of the numbers. And -25 is a good thing.)

I told myself there has to be something in my thinking that requires more honesty, more clean up. It showed itself to me today: I still think I can accomplish what I want by manipulating the effect (body, food, exercise) and secondly, I haven’t changed my sense of conviction deeply enough.

Do those two points make you scratch your head and wonder what the heck I’m talking about? If you recall, last January I invited you to “not diet with me in 2009.”  I’m still inviting you aboard to do just that.  Our teleclass series will teach you how to accomplish that, and its beginning soon! You will have 14 classes between March and October that will turn your current world on it’s ear.  You won’t recognize the old you once you get through this class work.  Yes, work.  It takes work to change, and that’s why today’s title:  Those Who Courageously Change Within Themselves are Truly the World’s Leaders. Each one, teach one.  I want to share my understanding with you. I’m passionate about it.  I hope you’ll join us.

Love,

Pat

Do You Have the Guts to Change?

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

It’s true, I’m an old fart, and old farts don’t change easily.  We’ve gotten comfortable with “how it is” even though “how it is” may no longer be working.  So I challenge myself to change frequently.  Can I give up my creature comforts?  Can I do things differently?  Can I institute new successes if I change?  Can you change? We’re at a political place in our country where people want change.  I’ve got a question for you: should only they change or are you willing to change as well? How much would you be willing to do differently?

Would you like to think differently about yourself?  That would be a big change, wouldn’t it?  If you’re fat, you’d have to give up on thinking about yourself as someone who is somehow less than. You would have to stop expecting people to poke fun at you.  You’d have to stop looking at yourself in the mirror and wrinkling up your nose because you don’t like what you see there.  You’d more than likely have to take an inventory of all the negative ways you view yourself and one by one, change them.

That’s the kind of thing we talk about at The World of Within. I happen to think that if you and I and Obama do our changing all together, wouldn’t this be a better world?  Let’s do it!
