Standing Up for Yourself
Welcome back!
I’m continuously amazed when the challenges in my life reoccur. Heck, didn’t I handle it once? How many times do I have to prove myself? Ah, well, no matter. Because I know that only good is happening, I know that whatever comes up for me to handle is for my good ultimately. And thank god I know that, because, whew! Sometimes life’s challenges are smackalicious, aren’t they?
I have suffered throughout my life from self-doubt. I think most large folks do in some form or another. I have worked for years to recognize my own good and keep that at the forefront of my thinking. Mainly, I’m successful, but several days ago, I felt really challenged. The challenge came from someone whom I respect and whom I consider a very strong individual. Up crept that little snaklet of a doubt “Are you sure you were right? That you worded your comments as accurately as you could? Why would he/she cast aspersions on what I wrote?” Yadda yadda! The little voice rages on.
Could I resolve this on my own without asking the opinion of others? No. I needed the reassurance that I was okay from two friends. I’m over it now. I thought I’d share it with you so if/when this happens to you, you can go inside yourself as I did, do an assessment of your own list of right and wrong, see logically where you stand and then run it by a few friends to tweak your sense of self and come to a good decision. That’s my process and I’m stickin’ with it.
I saw the new home page for The World of Within . I’m getting excited about it!
Love,
Pat
