You Can’t Find Your Future In a Mirror

February 3rd, 2010

Welcome back!

thads-lake

There is great beauty in the reflection of the lake above.  There is great beauty in a mirror.  But when you look at and think about great beauty, a “reflection” just doesn’t get the job done - you have to go look at the real thing. You have to lift your line of site above the lake pictured.  And when you’re looking in a mirror, you have to realize that the beauty you are seeing is being reflected - it’s being reflected from the individual standing in front of the mirror.

But wait!  Let’s go a bit deeper into that idea.  Is it the individual’s body, her clothing, her jewelry, her hair style, her makeup that is being reflected?  NO!  That’s all a reflection, too.

What’s it reflecting?  It’s reflecting the inside of that individual.  It is reflecting:

  • the thoughts she thinks about herself and her body
  • the level of consideration she thinks she deserves
  • the degree of intelligence she thinks she has
  • the beauty she knows her innermost self reflects
  • the level of goodness she is convinced she IS

You are so much more that the reflection seen in that mirror.  You are the fullness of mentality.  You are the allness of good.  You are each truth you have discovered on your path here on earth.  You are a vast quantity of good things.  You are an intense compendium of all that is virtuous.  You are the keenest of faculties.  You are the epitome of enjoyment. Without you and all that you are, without all the potential you will yet manifest, there would be incompleteness.

So don’t be satisfied when what you see in a mirror looks “okay” or “so so.”  And don’t be satisfied when what you see in a mirror looks top notch.  Only be satisfied when you can go within yourself and say “I am truly satisfied with all that I am” because I alone am fulfilling all of my desires, all of my hopes, all of my dreams, and THAT, is great beauty.

Only You!

Reminder:  the Ten Lies You Were Told About Being Overweight teleclass series is beginning tomorrow.  Read about them here. It’s a great way to renew your resolutions, love yourself more, and improve success in all the areas of your life.

With love,

Pat

What’s the Difference Between “Waiting” and “Persevering?”

January 26th, 2010

Good News!

Good News!

Most people base their judgments on what they see, here, touch, taste, and smell.  It’s a real kindergarden way of forming judgments, but some of us are stuck there and have no clue there’s more.

A better way to form judgments would be to use those first five senses listed above and then to add to them wisdom and understanding.  You get a much smoother, more complete mix when you do that.

I decided years ago I would not diet again to try to lose weight.  Since then, I’ve been working assiduously INSIDE of myself to make the corrections necessary for a permanent healing.  Having lived those years, having known the corrections I’ve made, the OUTSIDE of me doesn’t look better - in fact, it might even look worse.  Being inside here, I know there are two more MAJOR MISTAKES left to correct. I know what they are and I know how to make them.

I’m working on them, too, but they don’t show on the outside either.  :(  For those who judge me from the outside and who see only BIG, they have no clue if I’m waiting, if I’ve quit trying anything, or if I’m persevering. I find it absolutely serendipitous that Tut, the Universe, addressed this very topic today. We must have been blogging about it simultaneously yesterday.

So I wonder about you:  if you are a plus-sized woman, and you know darn good and well the pain of scornful judgment based on opinions, are you ready for some support from other plus-sized women who know where you park your goat?

It’s imperative you sign up for my ezine right away.  Later this week, I’m kicking off a new teleclass series from the ezine called The Lies You Were Told About Being Overweight.  There will be ten classes; they will be dirt cheap.  You cannot afford to miss this incredible opportunity to glean all my understanding (plus lots of free gifts) from me.  Sign up for my ezine, In-Sights, right away so you don’t miss the special issue coming out later this week.  Look in the upper right for the sign-up box. This series will revolutionize how you feel about your one sweet self.

Love you,

Pat

Can You Always See a Solution Clearly?

January 18th, 2010

Snow-filled wonderland

Snow-filled wonderland

When you’re faced with a challenge, can you see the solution clearly instantaneously?  Not me.  For example, where I live in the mountains of Southern California, we are expecting six to ten feet of snow this week.  Now normally, I’m okay with that.  I keep my home well stocked, so even if I can’t drive out of my driveway, I can just be a hermit.  But this week, I am scheduled to attend a pre-grant conference for a Grant I’m writing for a client in the VA side of my business, and attendance is mandatory.  So in the midst of that six to ten feet of snow, I have to drive off the mountain.  Oh baby oh baby.

My first solution was to get someone else to go in my place who lived down the hill.  Too many details to have to handle for me to go.  So she and I chatted and I left that kettle on to brew overnight.  When I woke up this morning, I could plainly see what I had to do and I’m in the midst of taking the appropriate steps to make that happen so I can attend.

My norm is to be as active as I can see to be, so not being able to see what steps were required of me was a bit of a conundrum.  It made me think of some of  you ladies who might not be able to see into this realm of being plus sized: can YOU see clearly what you are supposed to be getting out of being a big woman?  Maybe not.  But it is my area of expertise, so let me share a few ideas with you.

This wonderful world of ours has chosen to pick on fatties as the last bastion of lack-of-acceptance. The medical community announced years ago that being large was a threat to health.  Thousands of people believed them, and because those thousands of people don’t understand that their thinking is what is causing the health problems because of their beliefs, they don’t realize that being large has nothing, nada, zip, and zero to do with health problem.  Only thinking can cause anything, so it’s thinking that is causing the health problems….and probably the overweight as well.

That is one hell of a meaty paragraph and I’ll just bet you’d  benefit by reading it again…slowly.

Being large is not a threat to health.  Thinking that being large is a threat to health is a threat to health.  Girlfriend, it’s your thinking that is causing any medical problems you might be experiencing.

What’s the solution?  Think something better.  Think, for example, “Well shucks then, I’m going to think “I’m getting better.  I don’t need to do this diabetes any more. I’m not going to retain extra fluids.” Just reverse whatever it is you’ve been thinking, and you can get out from under what you truly did not understand.

And if you need more explanation, email me at pat@theworldofwithin.com and we can chat.

Love,

Pat
