I talked to the code boy yesterday, and the building of the site, especially the Forum, has begun! It took me a long time to get to the top of their To-Do list, but now The World of Within has reached gestation! Yea! I’m really excited about this.
I’ve worked for two years to bring this project to this place in time. Two years! I have a sales-type mentality that tends to gloss over the details and just get to the bottom line. I’ve been training her to be more of an accountant-type mentality and look at the details. It’s working somewhat, enough for me to notice the difference. I can see that making any change like this takes a lot of time and concentrated effort.
It’s very similar to the effort that you have to put out there to change the way you think about yourself. If you’ve developed a habit of thinking you are obese, or you are fat, or you hate the way your clothes fit, or you sigh every time you have to bend over to tie your tennies, or you resent having to powder all those cracks and crevices…..well, you’ve probably got a lifetime of thinking that way. If you want to heal yourself permanently and have a more normal-looking body, I wish you would consider doing the work it takes to change your concept of self and know that it “ain’t going to happen overnight.” What you’d be doing is entering into a process that could take several years. It could be a slow-go. I might not show improvement immediately.
Will you be like doubting Thomas and have to stick your hand in the wound to be sure it’s there? Or will you be able to understand the process as I explain it to you, and trust that you are in it and you are in for the duration? This work that I’m talking about will be invisible to everyone else around you. In my experience, talking about the work only made it worse for me, because the process is not visible to those watching - those loving family and friends-types who have such opinions! Their opinions added yet another layer that I had to work to remove, so if you are thinking of joining me to get yourself healed permanently of obesity, also think about not sharing your decision with anyone else. Retrospect is so smart!
The work is done while you are brushing your teeth; while you are driving to work; as you walk to the cafeteria to get your lunch; while you are standing in line at a movie; when you’re on the phone with girlfriends, as you walk to that VPs office to get a signature on some paperwork - it’s done during the quiet moments you have throughout your day - time that you are more than likely now spending obsessing over your appearance. We’re going to take your current habits of thought and turn them into something that will work better for you, that will eventually heal you.
I hope you’ve signed up to get In-Sights, my ezine. The first one is ready to roll just as soon as that website goes live. In the meantime, if you’ve got questions, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to ask them right now, or you can post them here. I hope we’ll be working together one day. I’d like to bring the comfort of my success to your house.
