Home from the Desert
Welcome back!
I went to Pahrump, NV this weekend. It’s a 250 mile trip that takes about four hours one way. I’m comfortable with silence, so when zero radio stations would come in, and two of my CDs skipped, I thought it just might be an indication that introspection time was appropriate. So, I went within - you know - where the kingdom of heaven is proported to be? Yeah, that within.
I am keenly sensitive to beauty and the desert didn’t disappoint me. The striations in the mountains, the variety of the greens, the flickerings of little critters - for all it’s desolateness, the desert is a very alive place and I tuned in naturally to my own aliveness from this conscious recognition.
Going there and coming home gave me nearly eight hours to think about my Self and to pat me on the back for the recognitions of what good I saw as I drove. I am convinced that we “create on the go” and if there is a modicum of truth in that, I created a lot of good this weekend. I know that I unfolded a lot of courage and self-confidence in my doings.
I have given up on the idea that my body has to remain in the condition in which I’ve held it for these many years and it is changing. It’s changing is directly proportionate to the degree my thoughts about it are changing. Part of my alone time was about recognizing that I’m changing big time. Seeing the power which has worked for me in so many others areas now working on this project is so heartening. I feel hopeful. It’s tickling the roots of my playfulness and disappearing a sense of seriousness. I’m so grateful tonight and it’s good to be back blogging with you.
