Fat Acceptance - Is It Just Hot Air?
Welcome back!
I don’t think the Fat Acceptance movement will ever work
because I don’t think anyone who overrides her “shit, there’s something wrong
here” and tries to force a decision of “everything’s absolutely rosey just the
way it is” is just kidding herself.
That doesn’t mean I don’t accept Fat…..or short, or brown,
or male, or whatever. I think acceptance
has to be universal for everything that is good within every single individual.
I love every single individual and all their good and I don’t give a tinker’s damn what you look
like. I’m convinced that if you lined us
all up and we circled the world, and you skinned each one of us, we’d all look
just the same – same innards, minus the skin. But if skin is only skin deep, and fat is only deep skin, I think you have to look wa-a-a-a-ayyy
deep within to find the commonality, and after that, the acceptance.
I think we all commit the same sin: we have NO FREAKIN’ CLUE that life is mental,
that our bodies are simply the effect of our minds thinking, and that no kind
of acceptance will ever be true acceptance until we accept that about and
within ourselves. We can campaign, wave banners,
join clubs, wear FA T-shirts, point our tits defiantly at whatever we want, but
when we go home at night and we crawl under our sheets, that’s the time to ask yourself about Fat Acceptance, not out here
where the shouters live.
So do you? Do you
really accept your Fat? I think you are
sidestepping the why of it if you say “Yes.” Set aside somebody else’s opinion
about your fat. What do you really truly
feel about it? Do you feel normal? I don’t see how you could feel normal,
because you’re a bit off norm. And
skinny folks are a bit off norm, too.
What is norm and how does norm work? Norm is the ultimate in nice. Norm is the big bruiser with his arm through
mine. Norm is the spark in my
universe. Norm is the Jamoca Almond
Fudge in my sundae. I spent the last 65
years figuring norm out and it’s not tell-able in one blog post. You’ll just have to join The World of Within and find out.
Love,
Pat
