Support for Obese Women
Friday, October 31st, 2008Welcome back!
Believe it or not, I was contacted this week by a man who said he also struggled with obesity and self-acceptance and self-love. That in itself isn’t terribly surprising. What struck me was the restriction I’ve placed on our community as a women only community. I want to explain how this whole thing works and the whys of it.
I have no concept at all of being discriminating against men. Men can certainly buy, read and learn from both the book and the accompanying workbooks. Men can attend all of the teleclasses and gain tremendously from that learning. In fact, three of the fourteen classes will be taught this year: on Nov. 14th, Dec. 5th and Dec. 19th at 6 pm PST; 9 pm EST. It will provide more food for your thought than Thanksgiving and Christmas together can provide for your belly.
The only thing men cannot do is join the community. It’s a place for women who want to let their hair down in the presence of their sisters. The sharing gets “different” if men are there. I know some men have highly unfolded their feeling side, but so often the perspective of men is not helpful to women who want to make corrections in their lives. I want our community to be a sanctuary, much like group therapy, where whatever happens there among the sisters, stays there; and the help received transforms your lives.
So, fellows, I am sorry to exclude you. I know you need help, too. I am not a man. I don’t think like a man. I don’t talk like a man. I don’t know how to get into your psyche and help you. I only know how to do that for women. That being said, yesterday, I was asked to link up with a man who might be able to help you. His name is Matt DiLorenzo, and here’s his site: Coherent Healing. He’s got a male perspective that I do not. I wish you well.
