Do You Enjoy the Food You Eat?

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Hello. Happy you stopped by. You won’t miss one juicy tidbit if you sign up for updates in the box on your right. Don’t forget, it all starts with “My Cats Have Seen Me Naked” – a permanent healing message for you who struggle with bodily image.

Family Feast

Family Feast

I’ve been processing on the idea that “The Sole Purpose of Food is Enjoyment” for nearly 30 years now. I remember when I first heard it, it absolutely did not resonate.  That’s because I had a completely erroneous mindset in there about food, which included ideas like:

  • Food can make you fat
  • Food can make you thin
  • Food can nurture you
  • Food can make you sick
  • Food can cause allergies

You can see that none of those ideas contains the concept of Enjoyment. I want to share with you the kinds of ideas I’ve processed across the years to get to the place where I no longer think any of those five bulleted points, and I only eat for the sake of enjoyment.

  • Only Mind is cause.
  • Only thinking can cause things.
  • The things caused are NOT cause, they are effect.
  • Effect has no ability to cause anything.
  • Food is effect.
  • Food has no ability to cause anything.
  • The only reason food appears to cause something is because I am thinking it can cause something. (Remember: Only thinking can cause things.  Things cannot cause things.)
  • Once I fully understand food cannot cause anything, I relinquish my mistaken idea and food returns to it’s norm where it causes nothing quite naturally.

I would love to think that if you print out this page and you think about it across some period of time, you will get to the place where Enjoyment is the only thing you think about when it’s time to eat. To that main idea add the idea of “All things in moderation” you’re a happy girl.

Reminder: a wonderful Christmas gift for your large friends is my book: My Cats Have Seen Me Naked: How I Achieved Self-Love and Self-Acceptance While Obese. You can buy it here.

Healing a Sense of Fat via Finances, of all things!

H. unfolding happily

H. unfolding happily

Our new grandbaby is doing a happy job of unfolding himself.  Right now, nobody has told him that food is causative (because it isn’t) and he only knows mommy is right there when he’s hungry.  He only eats when he is hungry.

I find this process amazingly miraculous to watch and to recognize how subverted it had  become for me as I was taught things that were not accurate. I can look back into my childhood up until around the 8th grade and not remember being told anything about food making me fat.  We ate three meals a day and I got lots of pats on the head from my Italian grandma when she visited for having a wonderful appetite.  At this time, my body was a normal size.

It was when I made it through puberty and got into high school that the comments began.   “Are you wearing a girdle?”  This was accompanied by a poke at my hips.  Folks, I have a passion for life.  Part of that passion is the enjoyment of food.  Until high school, no one had ever made a comment like “You eat too much” or “You’re getting fat.”  I truly believe that my obsession about food began with that kind of comment.

Happily, I’ve worked through that process and I can now enjoy food for enjoyment’s sake alone.  I have created deliberate disconnects between food and the size of my body.  And actually, I have recently seen that the size of my body changes - not with food intake - but with the fear about finances!  Imagine that!!!!!  If you’re like me, I’d give that one a good long look. Of course, I am working on the finances thing - who isn’t these days - and I know that a permanent fix is immanent.  Then, I can turn my full focus on my bodily size project again.  In the meantime, I always applaud my perseverance into healing by purely mental means alone.  It take great courage to do it this way.  No pills, no shots, no surgery, just me, thinking accurately.  Mental discipline sure does come in handy.  Try it; you’ll like it!

Happy Wednesday to y’all!

Acai: Weight Loss or Dietary Supplement?

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

wow-small1

I am not a diet pill taker.  I mentioned to a friend a story about Acai and a battle of wits I’d had had with an over-eager younger neighbor who just knew that I needed to join his MLM group and pay $45 per bottle of his Acai juice because it was obvious to him that I needed that product.

Out of that conversation, my neighbor told me she had a bottle of Acai capsules and that she’d give them to me.  I thanked her for her generous thought.  She brought them over yesterday.

Do you recall some of the claims the marketing of this product has promised? Maximum Fat Burning. Lose Weight Fast. Cleanse Your System. When I read the claims on the actual product, it said: dietary supplement.  Dietary Supplement?  What about all those other claims?????

I believe you have to be alert to this kind of scam.  Spiritual healing techniques will take you out of this rat race into the world of real healing.  Imagine if you only needed to rely on what you think to effect your size:  no surgery, no dieting, no exercising - just your right thinking.  It is a law of the Universe that you, thinking to the point of absolute conviction on a point, will manifest that thought.  So if you thought yourself normal sized to the point of absolute conviction, you will manifest normal size.

Sit down.  Write out what normal sized means to you: appearance, feeling, activity - anything you can think of.  Now, think those thoughts three times a day for 15 minutes and expect results.

Love,

Pat
