Picture Yourself At the Finish Line

Welcome back!

More Daffodil Garden

More Daffodil Garden

One of the most helpful things you can do as an overweight or obese woman to support yourself while you are doing mental dieting and mental exercise  is to picture what you will look like when your task has been completed.  Get a really clear picture of what your goal will look like.  Think about that picture while you are doing your mental work each day.

(You ARE doing your mental work three times each day, right? I think the mandate to “pray without ceasing” means to continuously think the goal of your mental work every time you become consciously aware of your project, and then, three times a day, sit down specifically to consciously focus on your goals.)

Some folks have called this technique “visualization.”  All it means is creating a mental image inside your mentality of what you desire.  It’s a three-step process:

1.  Visualize your desire as an image

2. Think your desire until you arrive at a place of absolute conviction inside your own mentality that what you desire is right and good for you

3.  Enjoy the likeness of the image that appears in your life.  (It should look just like your desire.)

You might recognize some of these words because they have been used elsewhere in your life.  Far be it from me to tell you this is what was meant!  You’re a bright light your own sweet self.  :)

Take on the day!

Love,

Pat

Running Springs Daffodil Lady

Running Springs Daffodil Lady

Today, I’m going to make it very short and very sweet:

I have now manifested a permanent, 30 pound weight loss due to my mental work alone.

My book, “My Cats Have Seen Me Naked,”  tells you what I’m doing.  My teleclasses enhance the concepts and expand them more.

And today, I’ll be on Robin Hardy’s Blog Talk Radio Show at 11:00 a.m. PST. Our topic is “The False Perfect.”  We’ll be talking about how amazing you are and how to embrace your natural beauty and wonder.

Don’t you ever get weary with the viscious diet/exercise/binge cycle?  I can teach you how to get out of that nasty maze:  the one with no cheese at the end and the continuous nagging at yourself that it causes.  When you’ve had enough, I’m here.

Love,

Pat

Does Irritation Get In The Way of Your Weight Loss?

Friday, March 27th, 2009

When you are in - shall we call it -  “weight loss mode”, there’s a whole lot else going on beside the mental diet and the mental exercise, isn’t there?  Or are you still doing the same rut - using food to diet?  Has that worked permanently in the past?  Just wondering why you might be doing the same thing and expecting different results?  Go ahead, smack me.

I noticed that my daily work routine involves a whole lot that doesn’t seem to have anything to do with mental dieting, or does it?  I have a worker bee at my house.  He told me he knew how to install a block wall.  I have been out there supervising every single block that goes down.  He is clueless and we have a language problem on top of it.  So I find myself irritated.  Not with him, with me.  Somehow, I have taken this whole thing on me.  Why don’t I speak his language?  Why didn’t I want to spend more money and hire a contractor?

And then I wondered this:  “I’ve hired contractors before.  They are frequently as inept as this man is, so the only difference would be spending more money.  And why can’t HE learn MY language.”  But I did notice that my first line of thinking is to blame me.  I wonder how many of us obese women do that?  Please tell me that I’m not the only one!

If I were to diagnose this using my metaphysical skills - you do know I’m a metaphysics teacher, don’t you? - then I would say this is an overboard sense.  It inflates a sense of guilt inside of me for what I see the bottom line to be “I am not good enough.”  Do you do that?  Have you ever slowed yourself down enough to look inside that intently?  I have a sneaking hunch we might have that in common.

I know that correcting this type of thing inside, mentally, is part and parcel of the correction needed to lose weight through mental means alone.  If  you see  yourself creating any kind of mental burden, isn’t that a weighty sense?  Might’nt that be part of your difficulty?  Just an idea I thought you’d find interesting, tasty and helpful.

Can’t resist an opportunity to tell you that the 3rd class in the tele-series is being taught on Monday, April 6th at 6 pm PST.  It’s entitled:  The Power Within You. If you’d like to discover what that is and see yourself in a whole new light, you can Sign Up Here.

Love,

Pat
